Women's cashmere round neck & boat neck sweater

Timeless and flattering, the women's cashmere crew-neck sweater is a safe bet that you'll come back to season after season. Its clean and simple cut suits all body types and goes equally well with tailored trousers or casual jeans. Studio Cashmere8 offers a selection of 100% pure cashmere crew-neck and boat-neck sweaters, sourced from the Mongolian steppes where extreme climatic conditions give rise to a fiber of exceptional softness and strength. Our pieces are available in several thicknesses — from lightweight 2-ply to warm 4-ply, up to 6-ply for really cold weather — and as many knits: fluid jersey, traditional rib, openwork pointelle, or generous cables. All our pieces are OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified, to guarantee cashmere free of harmful substances, respectful of your skin and the environment. In terms of colors, a palette of timeless neutrals — off-white, navy blue, camel, gray — is shaken up by our tie-dye gradients and multicolored stripes.

The cashmere crew neck sweater, a wardrobe essential

It's the piece you'll keep forever. The crew neck isn't about making a statement: it simply suits everyone, can be worn from Monday to Sunday, and ages gracefully without going out of style. Our collection features some fifty models in Mongolian cashmere, from the simplest jersey to intricate knits, and a few boat necks for those who prefer to show off their shoulders.

A knitwear wardrobe

This is probably what distinguishes this collection the most: with an identical neckline, the knit changes everything – the drape, the warmth, the look.

The light 2-ply knitsopen the collection. The pointelle knitof the LILLY 23, with its openwork of small regular patterns, lets the light through and is particularly suitable for mid-seasons. The MIA 17 plays a more architectural card: low armholes, a classic crew neck and chiseled finishesthat clearly define the edges. In a more structured style, the traditional ribsof the LILLY 16 provide a vertical relief that slims the silhouette.

The dense 4-ply knitstake over when the cold weather sets in. The cablesof the LILLY 29 create a generous and truly warm volume, in the tradition of large winter knits. The LILLY 30, meanwhile, adopts an oversize cuthighlighted by ribbed edges at the collar, cuffs and hem – a cozy sweater you'll never want to take off.

Finally, the ZAYA 7 is our warmest piece: a thick 6-ply knit, raglan sleeves that soften the shoulder line, wide ribbed edges and a delicate openwork line that runs horizontally across the back.

Tie-dye and color blocks

In addition to solid colors, some pieces embrace patterns. Our tie-dyesweaters feature gradients that range from camel to brown, light gray to anthracite, and ecru to deep purple. Other models feature a multicolored stripeon the sleeves or neckline: a discreet detail on a solid-colored sweater, enough to lift it out of the strictly classic category.

Understanding ply count

The number of assembled plies determines the density of the knit, and therefore its warmth and drape. 2-plyis soft and fluid: perfect from mid-season to winter under a coat, and ideal for layering without bulk. 4-ply, denser, is sufficient on its own on cold days. 6-plyis a true winter knit with remarkable hold.

All our pieces are OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified, guaranteeing cashmere free from harmful substances, for both skin and environment.

Crew neck or boat neck?

The crew neck frames the face and remains the most versatile: it accommodates a necklace, can be worn under a jacket, and is comfortable. The boat neck, wider, reveals the shoulders and visually lengthens the neck – a more dressed-up neckline that highlights the collarbones and pairs well with a skirt or high-waisted trousers. We offer a few models, in both 2-ply and 4-ply.

Styling your outfit

The crew neck can be worn alone, or over a cashmere t-shirtfor a sleek layered look. Under a structured jacket, it softens; with raw denim, it dresses up. For a coordinated ensemble, pair it with cashmere trousers.

If you prefer a different neckline, discover our V-neck sweaters, which are more elongating, or our turtlenecks and mock necksfor the coldest days.

Choosing the right size

Depending on the line, our sweaters are available in single sizes (S to XXL) or double sizes (S-M, L-XL). Ribbed knits have natural elasticity and fit closer to the body, while oversized cuts like the LILLY 30 are happily worn in their usual size. Our size guidespecifies the measurements for each reference.

Caring for your cashmere

Hand wash in cold water with a special wool detergent, or delicate cycle in a mesh bag. Never twist the knit: press gently, then dry flat. Stored folded away from light, with a cedar or lavender sachet, the garment retains its shape season after season. Our detailed advice can be found on the cashmere carepage.
