I travel to dress you – the philosophy behind Studio Cashmere8

I travel to dress you – the philosophy behind Studio Cashmere8 - Studio Cashmere8

I still remember that first trip to Mongolia. The sun was rising over the Gobi Desert, bathing the copper-coloured earth in golden light, while a sky of an almost unreal blue stretched endlessly above us. Moments shared in the yurts, conversations with nomadic herders, a raw and silent beauty that changes you for good. It was there, in that breathtaking landscape, that Studio Cashmere8 truly took shape in my mind.

That adventure is our story. And today, I want to tell you why we created it and, above all, why it really matters.

An encounter, a fibre, an obsession

Studio Cashmere8 was born from a passion for knitwear and an exceptional material: cashmere. My partners, whom I was lucky enough to meet over the course of my career in fashion and textiles, and I have long shared the same love for this noble fibre. It is not a childhood friendship; it is something sometimes even stronger: a bond forged through work, mutual respect and a shared vision of what fashion should be.

The number “ 8 ” in our name? It is the month we were all born in, of course, but it is also the symbol of infinity. The infinity of our bond. The infinity of our passion for this material. And the infinity of what we want to offer you: timeless pieces that last for years without ever going out of style.

Cashmere, an ethical conviction

When you truly love something, you cannot turn a blind eye to what happens behind the scenes. From the very beginning, we refused to work with middlemen. Not out of a need for control, but out of respect – respect for the material, for the artisans and for you, who wear our pieces.

We work exclusively with OEKO-TEX certified supply chains, which guarantee the complete absence of harmful substances at every stage: spinning, dyeing, knitting, finishing. We have asked our partners to sign a charter on animal welfare and environmental respect. And we make sure that every person in our production chain is treated with dignity: no child labour, healthy working conditions, fundamental rights respected.

This is not marketing. It is a deep conviction we have held since day one.

Every collection, a journey

What nourishes me, what inspires me season after season, is travel. Every new collection is born from a destination, from immersion in a culture, a light, a particular atmosphere. I set off, I observe, I feel, and I come back with a palette, ideas for shapes, a story to tell through the stitches.

Since the beginning, each season has had its own destination:

Collection n°8 – La Camargue, winter 2022

The wind skimming the lagoons, the white of the horses in the salty mist. A collection born of silence and the essential.

California Dreamin’ – Summer 2023

San Francisco sunshine in your hair, freedom as the only rule. An ode to those who dared to dream differently.

Mémoires de Hanoï – Winter 2023

The whisper of knitting needles, the spicy scent of tuberoses through the open window. Some memories are meant to be worn.

Une journée à Bombay – Summer 2024

The sublime chaos of Mumbai, its thousand layered colours, its energy that never sleeps. A collection for those who live life loudly.

Un hiver en Provence – Winter 2024

Ochres, the low January light, thyme under snow. The quiet luxury of those who know where they belong.

Marseille baby – Summer 2025

The sea as far as the eye can see, the mistral in the narrow streets, a city too real to be polished. You don't fall in love with Marseille, you just always come back.

Takara – Winter 2025

In Japan, beauty does not impose itself; it waits to be noticed. Takara, “ treasure ” in Japanese, for pieces that deserve to be cherished.

Lotus – Summer 2026

From Sri Lanka to Con Dao, from Bangkok to Phu Quoc, from Saigon to Hanoi, a collection that follows the sun, the rivers and the lotus flowers on the surface of the water.

Every piece you wear is a travel journal. That, I believe, is what makes our collections unlike any other: they have a soul, a real starting point, a lived emotion.

Quality as the only true luxury

I am passionate about fashion and sustainable elegance. And to me, true luxury has never meant an exorbitant price or a showy logo. True luxury is slipping your arms into a sweater and immediately feeling that everything is right: the softness, the drape, the subtle warmth.

Our Ultra-fine Cashmere & Wool collection is the perfect example: knitted in 16 gauge from an extremely fine yarn, it offers an almost airy lightness, a fluid drape and an elegance that works as well at the office as at dinner. Pieces for women and men, designed to last, not just for a season.

What I want you to feel

When you slip on one of our sweaters, I want you to feel the care and love with which every stitch was designed. I want you to simply feel good, in a garment that is beautiful, right and honest.

Because at Studio Cashmere8, we believe a garment can have a story, a value, a coherence.

Yours starts here.
